Am I Sick Because an Unanswered Accusation Has Been Brought Against Me in a Heavenly Court?

No.

You are sick because the devil is oppressing you with sickness, which he has no right to do because Jesus has paid for your healing.  Nothing in Scripture says that you need to go to a heavenly court before you can get healed.  You can invoke the name of Jesus right here on the earth to get rid of sickness!

There is a certain bizarre teaching going around that you must appear in a heavenly court to plead your case to get something you need.  As usual, the basis is Twisted Scripture.  (That sounds like it could be the name of a new metal group that sings about fad doctrines.)  Part of this is that you supposedly must ask a court to be seated due to Daniel 7:10 (“A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgement was set, and the books were opened.”).  They interpret the KJV phrase “the judgement was set” as “the court was seated,” which most Bibles agree with.  So far, so good.  But the context is that thrones were cast down and a beast (assumably an empire) was slain.  This has nothing to do with anyone getting a need such as healing met and it is certainly a court that would be above your pay grade to be part of.

Then the story of the unjust judge in Luke 18:1-8 is invoked to indicate that you need to appear before a judge to get what you want.  But neither Jesus nor his followers went before any heavenly judge to get healing; they freely dispensed it.  No heavenly court session will ever be held about anyone’s healing today.  (See the section on the Courtroom Mindset under Mistaken Prayer Mindsets.)  The allegorical court of heaven has already met and determined on the basis of God’s Word that healing rightfully belongs to everyone.  No new verdict will ever be issued by heaven on that matter.  The verdict is in forever: YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE HEALED NOW BECAUSE HEALING IS ALREADY YOURS AS A CHRISTIAN.  You should NEVER try to go to a heavenly court to “get” what you ALERADY HAVE!

This whole line of reasoning gets worse, getting into undoing issues in your bloodline, which is bogus doctrine (see Breaking Generational Curses? for more about such issues), and the “works” teaching that you must repent of all unconfessed sin before you have the right to appear in heaven’s court.  That’s silly for at least two reasons.  First, you don’t have to appear in any heavenly court at all – any “court” issue could be handled by your lawyer, Jesus Christ the Righteous (1 John 2:1).  Second, Hebrews 10:19 proves that our access to God’s throne is based on Jesus’ blood, not anything to do with our works or our track records.

The Twisted Scripture used to support appearing in court to get justice actually proves the opposite:

Hebrews 4:16:
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

This verse does not say that you come for justice!  Justice would be served if you were punished for your sins and Jesus had never come.  No, you find grace, which is God’s gift, unrelated to your conduct.

You need to check out everything with the Bible.  If you see a new book hyped and sold on some Weird Doctrine of the Day show on TV, step back and consider whether the premise matches what you know from Scripture.  This will save you a lot of trouble and stop YOU from getting weird.  If they didn’t do something in Scripture, you don’t need to do it either.  Don’t let anyone complicate what the Bible makes easy.
