Can I Pray That the Doctor Will Give Me a Good Report?

This common prayer request has never made sense to me.  Does this mean that even if the condition is still there, the doctor's report will incorrectly report that it is gone?  If you really believe that the condition is gone, there is no reason to pray about the doctor's report, as it will just confirm what you believe, unless I suppose you are praying against a wrong report that claims falsely that you still have a problem.

It makes more sense to me for you to believe that you receive your healing when you pray (Mark 11:24), which if you truly do, it won't matter to you what the doctor's report says, because even an awful one will not move you!  If you haven't believed that you received when you prayed, you have no basis to believe for a good report when you don’t believe that anything has changed.  If you believe you received your healing and you get a bad report, your confidence is not shaken because you know a better report has to be coming.

The person asking this question probably has the unbelieving attitude, “I’m going to go to the doctor to find out if I’m healed.”  If that’s you, you are NOT in faith for your healing.  If you were in faith, you would KNOW that you have your healing without needing a doctor to confirm it.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t get tested, but if the test result is going to determine for you whether or not you are healed, you are not standing in faith on God’s Word that already declares you healed (1 Peter 2:24).
