Ephesians 1:3:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Notes on Ephesians 1:3:

“All blessings” certainly include healing! You are already blessed with healing; it is there for the taking.

It’s a great day when you learn that Jesus has already provided everything you’ll ever need! Our part is only to receive, not to harass God into doing something new about our needs. You don’t have to pray to be blessed as Jabez did in the Old Testament; you’re already blessed! The “Prayer of Jabez” was a fad for a while, but it’s just not a New Testament prayer.

1 Chronicles 4:10:
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

You can be much more productive in prayer when you just receive what’s yours. That will give you more time to intercede for others as well as giving thanks, praising and worshiping God!

One could ask, “If we are already blessed with these blessings, why don’t all Christians walk in them?” You can only believe God to the extent that you know His will as He revealed it His word. If you don’t know you’re already blessed, you’ll pray the “Prayer of Jabez” and otherwise cry out for God to bless you, which is useless for a New Testament saint. You will miss out on walking in the blessing that is rightfully yours. The concept is similar to the one that Jesus has already paid for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2), but only those who receive Jesus receive the forgiveness that He paid for. Those who believe have acted on the truth that Jesus already did something about their sins. Those who do not believe will end up in hell without the blessing of forgiveness that Jesus paid for.
