Is It Easier to Receive Healing if We Charge Up Our Spirits by Praying in Tongues?

Praying in tongues is a great blessing.  It allows you to ask God for things beyond what you could ask or think.  He is then authorized to grant your request even though you don’t know what you’re requesting.

However, God’s will about healing is already known (3 John 2), so it is never technically necessary to pray in tongues to receive healing.  You can believe that you receive your healing praying with your understanding.

If you seem to be having trouble receiving healing, you can ask the Holy Spirit to help you.  You can pray out mysteries.

Romans 8:26:
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself [Himself] maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

1 Corinthians 14:2:
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Another benefit of praying in tongues is that it gets your spirit man active, which can help you become more aware of spiritual things and be less likely to accept what your flesh says.  You can’t speak in tongues without the Holy Spirit being involved to give you utterance.  Cooperating with the Holy Spirit in one area will make it easier to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in another area (healing).

However, the question is technically flawed.  The idea that praying in tongues recharges your spirit is based on a misunderstanding of what Jude 20 really means as well as a misunderstanding of 1 Corinthians 14:4.  Nothing in Scripture shows any need for your perfected born-again spirit to be “recharged” periodically.  Jesus did very well in His ministry without ever speaking in tongues to “charge up His spirit.”  I believe it makes your soul stronger as you learn to yield to the Holy Spirit and pray in other tongues.  So I would say that it does make it easier to receive healing if you build up your soul praying in other tongues.  The more of a habit you make it to go with the Spirit instead of what your flesh can see, the easier spiritual things will be for you.
