Is it OK for a Christian to Get Acupuncture?

If the acupuncture to be performed is simply being done as a medical procedure for medical reasons, there is no biblical prohibition against it.  But you must be really, really careful.  I don’t know if you can even find an acupuncturist who doesn’t believe that the procedure is supposed to harmonize your yin and your yang, which are decidedly anti-Christian concepts.  If he believes that Taoist garbage, I’d stay far away.

The Bible does not say anything explicit about the procedure of acupuncture, either for or against.  However, the Bible is definitely at odds with the Taoist philosophy of acupuncture.  If you aren’t born again, your spirit man has a characteristic they might call yin (negative).  If you are born again, you spirit man has a characteristic they might call yang (positive).  Whether you are born again or not born again, in neither case do you have a positive spirit and a negative spirit in your body at the same time to be balanced!  If you’re a believer, your born-again spirit would never want to be “balanced” with that sinful dead spirit who used to live in your body but no longer does!
