Is It OK for a Christian to Get Reiki Treatments?
NO!
Reiki is an occult practice where someone channels “spiritual energy” into someone else. Any attempt to access spiritual energy without Jesus is an open door to the devil. This includes both in-person Reiki treatments and “sending energy” to others. Part of the Reiki deception is that only “good” or “healing” energy can be involved. That is a big lie. The energy involved is destructive and demonic. It may give the gullible practitioner and recipient a nice feeling at the time, but that comes at the cost of opening themselves to the devil and his accomplices. Satan is even willing to “trade up” by healing you and meanwhile getting one or more of his demons into your body.
Reiki even has a counterfeit born-again experience. If you go high enough in it, you are supposed to devote your life to Reiki. No Christian, who has devoted his life to Jesus by definition, could ever do that.
If you get into serious Reiki teaching, which you should not, you will start hearing about the presence of certain spirits, definitely not including the Holy Spirit, when you practice it. If that’s not a giveaway that Reiki is totally occultic and of the devil, I don’t know what is. Some Reiki practitioners admit that they rely on the spirits of dead people for help, which is clearly forbidden by Scripture:
Deuteronomy 18:9-11:
When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
That last verse clearly declares trafficking with spirits and trying to talk to dead people to be abominations.
The spirits in question are not actually the spirits of dead people, who are actually either in heaven or hell. They are evil spirits who do the devil’s bidding. They lead people into further lies about past lives (which never happened) and similar anti-biblical occult nonsense.
I know that there are so-called “Christian Reiki” people out there who claim to use the Holy Spirit’s power instead of demonic power, but that is deceptive. If you want to channel power into someone God’s way, lay hands on him in the name of Jesus. You can then expect the Holy Spirit’s power to flow out of you and the person can expect the Holy Spirit’s power to flow into him. That is a Christian concept. If that’s what you’re doing, it isn’t real Reiki, and you should not mislead anyone by saying that it is. Absolutely no Reiki concepts are involved with true Christian ministry, and absolutely no Christian concepts are involved with real Reiki.
As far as all the “Christian Reiki” goes, I wondered, “What’s next, Christian tarot cards?” Then I found such things sold online. So then I wondered, “Are Christian Ouija boards next?” Then I saw them sold online. I then figured, “I suppose Christian witchcraft is next!” And I found that online too! As a former occult practitioner myself, let me be the first to warn you that there is nothing Christian about any of those three things (among others) that I used to be involved with, and you need to flee from such demonic practices. I can warn you that the occult “experts” whose books I used to read all agreed that Jesus Christ was not God. The Ouija board even told me that Jesus was not real – I asked! Well, what do you think an evil spirit is going to tell you?
Can you imagine Jesus, His disciples, and His early church using Christian tarot cards, Christian Ouija boards and Christian witchcraft to help people? You’ll search the Bible in vain for anything like that.
What about the well-meaning people who really want to help and heal others and get into Reiki for that reason? They are deceived. If you really want to bless others, get saved and baptized with the Holy Spirit! A right motive does not prove right action. The Bible proves right or wrong action.
