Is It Wrong to Seek Healing Instead of the Healer?
It is never right to not seek God. So yes, it is wrong to seek healing instead of seeking the Healer. But it is also wrong to seek the Healer and not seek healing if you need it! While some who needed healing came and worshiped Jesus, many others were healed without doing so. Healing belongs to you, so you can receive it regardless of whether you ever worship Jesus. It is still good and right to worship Him because the One who paid for your healing deserves your worship!
It is certainly not a sin to seek something that Jesus paid for you to have. Healing is in that category. Just don't make an idol of it by making it your sole focus. You can seek healing and the Healer at the same time.
It is a trap to think that you must simply worship God instead of studying the Word about healing if you are sick. You need to hear the Word about healing, and that is the best way to “seek” it. God will have no problem with you taking in His Word about healing or any other subject!
I suspect based on the wording of this question that someone got this idea listening to a certain faithless popular song that I won't name because no one should waste time listening to it. The song tells God that if He never heals the singer, the singer will still seek the Healer and not the healing. That is totally against the Word of God, which tells you that you WERE healed already by the stripes of Jesus. The idea that the Healer would not heal you is bogus. Besides, if the Healer chose not to heal you, He wouldn't really be your Healer, would He?
