John 10:10:
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Notes on John 10:10:
This is a succinct statement that Jesus is good and the devil is bad. How sad that today many preachers reverse this and claim that GOD has visited you with disease (which steals, kills and destroys) and that if any healing is going on, it must be the devil’s doing. If that were true, Satan would be nicer than God and thus more worthy of worship! Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), not to destroy the works of God. So sickness can’t be the work of God! Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38).
I actually had a couple people come to my door to “witness” to me and I told them how God had supernaturally healed me of allergies that I had suffered all my life until that point. They informed me that the DEVIL must have done it because GOD doesn’t do that anymore. I said that if that is true, Satan is nicer than God and we should worship Satan instead of God. They actually ran off scared. Now maybe that wasn’t very nice, but I hope that I gave them something to think about!
