Matthew 12:15:

But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

Notes on Matthew 12:15:

Here we see a pattern in Jesus’ ministry.  Those seeking healing actively went to where Jesus was to get healed.  Jesus did not walk around the villages making “house calls” at random.  The sick followed Him; He didn’t follow them.  The sick who had the faith to follow Him for healing were NEVER turned down.

Under the New Covenant, Jesus lives in you, so you don’t have to go find Him on the earth.  However, the principle carries through into our New Covenant that the sick person has to take the initiative to receive healing.  You must not just sit there with the attitude, “If God wants me well, He’ll heal me.”  The great multitudes didn’t do that when they got healed, and you will miss out on healing if you get into that mistaken mindset.  You have to take hold of the healing that is already legally yours.

It’s obvious here that Jesus wanted some “alone time,” but when the multitudes followed Him, His compassion moved Him to heal them anyway.
