Mistake: Walking out of Love
Walking out of love toward the Body of Christ can lead to trouble, but so can walking out of love in general. Proverbs 11:17 shows us that being cruel troubles your own flesh. This doesn’t mean that God punishes you for your meanness by withholding your healing, which is still your legal right. It means that being cruel causes physical trouble in and of itself.
Please don’t think that you must have a perfect love walk before you can receive healing. It is safe to say that not a single person in the multitudes where Jesus “healed them all” had a perfect love walk any more than you do. Your love walk does not qualify you for healing – Jesus’ stripes qualify you for healing. However, it is difficult to walk in health if you persist in doing things that can make you sick.
Many preachers quote Galatians 5:6 and state that faith only works if you walk in love, but I think that goes too far in light of 1 Corinthians 13:2, which blatantly allows the possibility that you could have mountain-moving faith without walking in love. You are a big zero in that case, which should not be your goal, but it’s still possible. Many of us have encountered people like that – you admire their faith, but you can’t stand being around them. But if people can’t stand being around you because of your lack of a love walk, it will hinder you from ministering to other people even though you can receive things for yourself.
