Should We Have Separate Prayer Cloths for the Sick and the Demonized?
Acts 19:11-12 does not indicate that there was any need for separate batches of prayer cloths for people to take to sick people as opposed to demonized people. If the people were sick, they got healed, and if they were demonized, they got delivered. The anointing sets both classes of people free. There is no great harm in segregating cloths for different purposes (which I actually have seen done), but it is a waste of time and it sets up an unnecessary complication for those using the cloths – they must somehow know for sure if the recipient is just sick or has a demon. What if you’re wrong and you use a cloth from the wrong pile? How do you know for sure if a demon is involved? And finally, what if the person is sick and has a demon, do you need to use two cloths on such a person, making sure that you use one from each pile at church and not two from the same pile?
The truth is always simpler than man and religion make things. The anointing in a cloth will drive out both sickness and demons. Just believe that and don’t worry about which problem the recipient has.
