Objection: We Should Just Preach the Gospel, Not Healing

Religious people have redefined “the gospel” as only meaning the part of the gospel involving avoiding hell.  However, what GOD calls the gospel in the Bible includes divine healing!  If you aren’t preaching healing, you aren’t actually preaching the gospel – you’re only preaching part of it!

In Acts 14:7-10, a man who had never walked heard Paul and Barnabas preach the gospel – God’s term.  Hearing the gospel enabled him to have faith to be healed.  Since faith (for specific things) comes by hearing the Word (Romans 10:17), the only way “faith to be healed” could have arisen in his heart would be that “the gospel” that Paul and Barnabas preached included healing.

If that’s what God’s Word calls “the gospel,” I must also affirm that we must preach the gospel, which includes healing.

There can’t be any “gospel” that doesn’t include the power of God because the gospel IS the power of God (Romans 1:16, 1 Corinthians 1:18)!
