Objection: God Uses Sickness to Remind Us That We Are Headed for a Better Place

Jesus’ words in the Bible are undeniably true.  A modern book with His alleged words does not carry the same weight.  Unfortunately, you can go to chain retailers and purchase books in which some of His alleged words contradict His actual words.  The REAL Jesus in the four gospels never told anyone that any sickness was a reminder from God that the sufferer will someday have it better.  The REAL Jesus does not console the sick; He heals the sick, as proved all over the New Testament.  Jesus healed people who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38), not those whom God was reminding that they were headed for a better place.

Sadly, people may believe that Jesus really said what this objection states because of His alleged words to the long-debilitated author of a book that got prominent store placement and sold a lot of copies. “I know Jesus said it because I read His very words in ‘My Version of Jesus Speaking’ by Sue Freere!”  I don’t question that the author was sincere and meant well, but intentions don’t prove correct doctrine, only conforming to the Bible does.

The fake words from Jesus don’t even make sense.  Anyone who doesn’t know Jesus is destined to suffer much more than today in the lake of fire.  So what purpose could the Lord have in sinners being sick?  It can’t be a reminder that they are headed for a better place because they’re headed for a WORSE place!  So based on the author’s version of “Jesus,” this would be a service the Lord only provides to saved people, even if saved and unsaved people suffer from the same condition!  I can’t see how that makes any sense.  Can you?

You can read the REAL version of Jesus speaking in another book that sells even more copies at the same chain retailers – the Bible!  He tells us that He came to give abundant life (John 10:10), not to merely comfort people with religious platitudes while the devil steals from them, kills them and destroys them and they put up with it, thinking that Jesus spoke about there being some noble purpose behind it.
